The Istria Peninsula is located right at the Northern end of the Adriatic Sea, less than 2 hours of driving from Zagreb.
This morning we will start from Zagreb, drive through the beautiful hills and valleys of Istria in Croatia and you’ll visit:
Pula, the city whose history goes back beyond Ancient times. You’ll find out whether the most famous symbol of the city, the amphitheater (Gladiators Arena) from the first century and the sixth largest in the world, was actually built because of love. Pula Arena is the most preserved amphitheater from the roman times in the World.
The route takes you along the western part of the Istrian peninsula with beautiful views of the sea and the rich hinterland.
We will visit the smallest town in the World – Hum and hilltop medieval town of Motovun. We will head again in the region of truffles. Truffles here are still hunted in the traditional way — using an animal’s keen sense of smell to dig them out in the wild. We can organize truffle hunting for you, if you want…Plus, this unique and special designed tour by our guides-experts will take you to some of the very hidden gems of Istria. What a surprise!
You will meet with history and culture of the towns of Rovinj and Porec (enjoy in historical beauties of Euphrasian Basilica World Heritage site by UNESCO). Actually, you’ll decide if you’d love to see the UNESCO heritage or to enjoy watching the beautiful sunset from the cobblestone streets of Rovinj.
Late in the evening, you’ll come back to Zagreb.
